(video) “Wake up …. you idol man!” RSM Brittain – 1953

A video from the British Pathe Archives of RSM Brittain M.B.E on parade at Alderhot, often said to have the ‘Loudest Voice in the British Army‘.

RSM Brittain is seen here in this video being presented with a clasp for his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.

At the time of the video, RSM Brittain (54 at the time) had served 36 years with 19 of those years being Regimental Sergeant Major (quite an achievement) with over 30,000 cadets hearing his unique voice of command.
