Drill Boot Inspection, Pirbright 1945.

Many thanks to Dave M for sending in this photo. Such an iconic photo deserves a page for itself!

I think this photo is of a kit inspection of a Squad at the Coldstream Guards Training Battalion at Pirbright? – In 1945 there were two Training Battalions at Pirbright, Coldstreamers and Scots Guards. The Grenadier Guards Training Bn was at Windsor, Welsh Guards at Sandown Park, Esher, and Irish Guards at Lingfield Race Course. After completing their Recruit training at the Guards Depot at Caterham, the squads would disperse to their respective Training Battalions for further training before posting to a Service battalion.
